Celebrating love at Tramonto
Couples took the time to celebrate each other and share their love stories during the restaurant Valentines day event.

I had the privilege this past weekend to capture the heart of Tramonto Boutique Hotel by interviewing a few of their guests this Valentine’s Day. It was not my first visit to this four-star boutique hotel in Signal Hill, but it was by far one of my best experiences celebrating love on this special day.
From the moment guests entered the stunning event, they were treated like royalty. A luscious red carpet stretched from the entrance gate, down the picturesque steps, and across the parking lot to a beautifully decorated backdrop where couples could take photos together. From the first impression, it was clear that the evening would be an experience fit for royalty. The theme was masquerade and dinner.
In true Tramonto style, the décor was elegant, thoughtfully arranged, and exuded charm without feeling overdone. Elegance and warmth met romance, setting the perfect atmosphere. Tramonto welcomed many couples, some traveling from as far as the USA.
Mr. and Mrs. Balase, who met five years ago, shared their very first Valentine’s Day celebration at Tramonto. Mr. Balase, who works out of town, made sure to be with his wife this year.
“The environment and culinary experience at Tramonto are unparalleled. It’s at the top of my list of places in Newcastle,” he said.
Despite a last-minute request, Tramonto accommodated him, ensuring their needs were met. The couple was seated in a cozy corner under the soft glow of fairy lights outside. Mr. Balase praised the exceptional food and described Tramonto as a peaceful, serene escape from the everyday world. He was delighted to have chosen this venue to spend his first Valentine’s Day with his new wife. Amy Marshall-Holmes and her wife celebrated their fifth-month wedding anniversary at Tramonto. The venue held sentimental value, as it was where they had their first date. “Romantic and exceptional,” they described the evening in two words.
Another couple, Nicole and her boyfriend shared their long-distance love story. Nicole, new to Newcastle from Mafikeng, was thrilled that her boyfriend of four years, who works in the USA, chose Tramonto for their Valentine’s celebration. The couple beamed with joy as Nicole expressed how the experience was both unique and unexpected. As for myself, I was lucky enough to experience the menu. As a seasoned global traveler, I rank Tramonto among my top four experiences worldwide.
The masquerade masks encouraged fun and interaction, and couples laughed, dined, and created memories throughout the evening. Each lady received a red rose upon entry, and couples enjoyed complimentary chocolates and drinks. The fairy lights added to the romantic, fairytale-like Tuscan setting, making the evening truly magical. One of my favorite couples was celebrating 33 years together.
“We met at school as teenagers, grew up together, and yes, love at first sight exists,” they shared, their smiles radiating joy. A common sentiment among the guests was that the evening felt like a romantic escape and a unique experience.
Many remarked that Tramonto made them feel as though they had been transported to a European city with its stunning architecture and extremely welcoming, friendly staff. Some even mentioned that it felt like home away from home because of the warm and welcoming staff. For me, it was an honor and privilege to witness such a beautiful event at Tramonto. As someone new to Newcastle, having moved from Johannesburg this past December, I am thrilled that Tramonto is a place I can regularly visit, whether for a special occasion or a simple coffee stop. I have never felt more welcome anywhere. I hope to see you all very soon at Tramonto and cannot wait to experience more events hosted by this exceptional venue.
Cheers to love, laughter, and unforgettable memories at Tramonto Boutique Hotel.
