MEC hands over tablets to Sicelokuhle High School

The tablets are equipped with high-end educational applications.

The MEC for Education in KwaZulu-Natal, Sipho Hlomuka, handed over 50 tablets to Sicelokuhle High School in Peacetown yesterday (April 8). The tablets were sponsored by MTN and are equipped with high-end educational applications to benefit the learners.

Hlomuka’s visit was warmly welcomed by SGB chairperson Mr Ntokozo Ndaba, who expressed gratitude on behalf of all the parents. “We are honoured to have received these high-end technological tablets; thank you,” said Ndaba.

Sicelokuhle High School principal Mr Thamsanqa Mazibuko shared that, “We have 892 learners and an 87% NSC Examination pass percentage for 2024. Our aim is a 100% pass rate, as every learner deserves to progress.”

Dr David Chonco, chief director for district operations, expressed gratitude to MTN and congratulated the school on the new gadgets. Cllr Lindiwe Kubheka of Alfred Duma Local Municipality then remarked that, “MEC Hlomuka is our pride and joy for his contributions to this province.”

In his keynote address, Hlomuka acknowledged Sicelokuhle High School’s achievements and emphasised that, “These gadgets are for academic support only, not personal use. We must eliminate corruption in leadership.”
