Bill Black, better known as ‘Uncle Bill’ by those who knew him in Vryheid, passed away on April 30 in Llandough Hospital, Wales, after an illness. He was 85 years old.
Bill was the eldest son of the late Willie and Daisy Black; and brother to Don, Laurie, Lena and Len.
Bill and his late wife, Lorraine, are survived by their children Tara, Laura and William; and grandchildren Ryan, Taneth and Amy-Leah.
Bill was well known and respected in the Vryheid community for his expertise in electronics and strong work ethic, but will also be remembered fondly for his kindness, wisdom and integrity.
“May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest,
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.”
