New classrooms handed over to Thembisizwe Primary School
Underprivileged learners also received new school shoes.
It was all smiles today (September 4) as Thembisizwe Primary School received three newly-built, fully-furnished classrooms. The school is situated in Area 2000, St Chad’s.
This project was made possible through a partnership between the Ride4Hope Foundation, Nelson Mandela Foundation and Absa Bank.
According to Ride4Hope this initiative is part of ongoing efforts to honour the legacy of the late Nelson Mandela, who was passionate about education.
A similar donation was handed over to Tetelegu Primary School in Pietermaritzburg.

Luthando Kaka, director of operations at Ride4Hope, added that the team is now headed to Newcastle for the next initiative. “Each year, we choose a different cycling route,” Kaka said. “Last year, we rode from Howick to the Eastern Cape. This year, our journey began in Howick and will end on Vilakazi Street in Soweto.”
As part of the donation drive, underprivileged learners also received new school shoes, thanks to the support of Intercity and Eagle Liner coaches.
Ezakheni Circuit manager Ms TD Zondi welcomed the generous contribution and urged the local community to take good care of the new facilities.
