Tugela staff wear orange to oppose gender-based violence
Tugela Pre-Vocational School staff dressed in orange last week to raise awareness and support victims of violence against women and children.
Tugela Pre-Vocational staff accepted a challenge from principal Riaan du Plessis and came to school dressed in orange on December 5, to show solidarity with women and children affected by gender-based violence.
The colour orange is associated with the global ‘Orange the World’ campaign, which symbolises hope for a future free from violence against women and girls.
The campaign is widely used to raise awareness, particularly during the 16 Days of Activism.
