This event was Charné Rudolph’s brainchild that helped the stylists and models to showcase their talents and skills.
The level 4 learner had to design a hairstyle with the level 3 learners, who were the exquisite models. This was all part of an assessment in the school’s Hairdressing Practical Department.
Tanya Coetzee and Anneen Le Roux of Nail and Beauty Technology and Food Production handled the make-up and catering. The Tugela staff helped make the event a success for both students and spectators. Parents, grandparents, and loved ones came to support.
“Newcastle really helped out,” said Zanie Meyer, HOD of the Practical Department for Girls. “I asked on Facebook if people would lend us wedding dresses. The response was so overwhelming that we received more than we expected.”
Meyer added that the school itself funded the hair show, ensuring learners had the platform they needed to showcase their creativity and skills.
