Trees fall on Loskop Road during heavy storm

Fortunately, no accidents were caused.

As daylight broke this morning (December 10), reports of extensive damage began to pour in following last night’s fierce storm that was accompanied by gale-force wind.

Uprooted trees blocked several roads, irrigation pivots (sprinklers on a long pipeline) were overturned, and power lines were brought down across multiple areas.

The Umtshezi Working On Fire (WOF) team mobilised early, working alongside emergency services from Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality to clear trees obstructing the road leading to Loskop.

Thanks to the strong teamwork and swift response, the crews quickly removed the fallen trees and debris, helping to restore road safety and ensure that traffic could pass through safely once again.
