Police seek family for child found wandering in CBD

Police are trying to identify a young child found alone in Newcastle CBD and urge anyone with information to come forward urgently.

The Newcastle Community Policing Forum (CPF) has appealed to the public for assistance after a child was found wandering alone near Habibia Butchery in Voortrekker Street, Newcastle CBD.

CPF representative Belinda Ellor said efforts are underway to identify the child and trace family members or caregivers as a matter of urgency.

Anyone who recognises the child or has information that could assist is urged to contact the relevant authorities immediately.
