Prayer Service Offers Guidance and Hope for The Year Ahead

Community prayer service offered guidance, motivation and spiritual support for learners and job seekers.

God’s Time Ministers International, in partnership with Intaba Yosizo Citizen’s Prayer, hosted a prayer service at the start of the year aimed at offering spiritual support and encouragement to students, educators, workers and job seekers as they prepare for the year ahead.

Strong community turnout in Shoba

The service was held at Shoba on Friday, drawing strong support from community members and local religious leaders. Mr Dlamini formally welcomed the attendees and introduced the pastors, while Ayanda Kubheka co-ordinated the programme for the day.

Government departments and police address learners

Kubheka invited representatives from the Departments of Health and Education, the South African Police Service  and Community Policing Forum to address the students. The speakers offered guidance and counselling intended to support learners in navigating both their academic journeys and personal development.

Motivational message on discipline and responsibility

Vryheid-based motivational speaker and author Mr SSS Mhlungu encouraged community members to embrace discipline and consistency, emphasising that hard work remains essential for success.

Education values and access to opportunities highlighted

Department of Education official Mrs Ntanzi highlighted the importance of core educational values, including care, integrity, professionalism and openness.

Focus on mental health and youth challenges

Addressing health and social challenges, Mr Shelembe from the Health Systems Trust spoke about self-acceptance, mental well-being and pressures faced by young people.

Call for personal and spiritual growth in 2026

The service concluded with a message from Pastor Gambushi, who encouraged attendees to develop their minds and commit to personal, spiritual and character growth throughout the year
