10-year-old boy found dead in St Chad’s

No foul play is suspected at this stage.

Ladysmith K9 Search and Rescue responded on Wednesday (January 28) following reports of a missing boy in the St Chad’s area. The 10-year-old had not returned home from school.

The child’s school bag was found on the riverbank, prompting Warrant Officer Jacques Meyer and the team to conduct a thorough search of the surrounding area.

Sadly, the search resulted in the discovery of the child’s lifeless body.

Police say that, at this stage, no foul play is suspected.

The deceased has not yet been formally identified.
