Ladysmith police constable completes his first marathon

Constable Mdunge completed the distance in an impressive time of three hours and 16 minutes.

Ladysmith SAPS’s very own Constable Mdunge kicked off 2026 on a high note by completing his first marathon.

He took on the Johnson Crane Marathon, held in Benoni, and crossed the finish line in an impressive three hours and 16 minutes.

Mdunge credited his motivation to words of encouragement from Ladysmith station commander, Brigadier TM Mngadi, who challenged him to ‘up his game this year’ – a challenge he clearly rose to!
