Alfred Duma Municipality mourns passing of ward councillor

The municipality says her memory will continue to inspire all who had the honour of working with her.

Alfred Duma Local Municipality has announced the sad passing of Councillor Lindiwe G Hlongwane, at the age of 52. Cllr Hlongwane served with dedication in the Corporate Portfolio Committee and as an ANC PR councillor in Ward 13.

A loss to the municipality

In an official notice, the municipality described Cllr Hlongwane as a faithful and devoted public servant. “Her passing is a great loss to the municipality, her political party and the community she served with dedication. Her kindness and commitment to the community will always be remembered,” the statement read.

Tributes and condolences

The municipality has extended its deepest condolences to her family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time. This sad news comes after the municipality announced the passing of its Town Planning manager, Mr Hlela, who was laid to rest last week.
