Storm leaves trail of damage in Roosboom

Cllr Khumalo stated that officials remain on the ground to evaluate the full impact of the storm and provide necessary assistance to affected residents.

Authorities are continuing to assess the extent of the damage caused by a heavy storm that struck Roosboom yesterday (April 21), leaving several families affected after strong winds tore off the roofs of their homes.

Eight homes damaged as assessments continue

Ward Councillor Siphamandla Khumalo said that, according to the latest preliminary report, at least eight houses were damaged. He cautioned that the number could rise as assessment teams continue their inspections today (April 22).

Fallen trees disrupt traffic and damage vehicle in Ladysmith

The storm also hit Ladysmith, where it caused significant disruption as well. Trees were uprooted and fell onto Murchison Street, obstructing traffic. A falling tree damaged a parked vehicle.
