Debate team triumphs in friendly encounter – April 16

Vryheid High School’s Debate Team proudly participated in a friendly debate against Mpofini Secondary School on Thursday.
The motion under discussion, “Does black tax empower families more than it burdens the individual?”, sparked thoughtful and engaging arguments from both sides.
Our team of four debaters rose to the occasion, delivering well-structured and persuasive speeches to secure a victory with 1170 points against 1150.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Mpofini Secondary School for their excellent organisation and warm hospitality. It was a well-contested and enjoyable debate, showcasing the power of critical thinking and respectful dialogue.
