Man knocked down in Allen Street accident

Two young children in a pram escaped unharmed.

A 33-year-old man was injured after being knocked down by a vehicle in Allen Street earlier this afternoon (April 29).

According to the man’s wife, Micaela, they were walking down Allen Street with their two children (two and three years old) when the car hit her husband from the side.

“Jaco went flying over the pram, which caused the pram to flip over with our two children inside it,” she said.

Fortunately, both children escaped unscathed, while Jaco sustained moderate to serious injuries.

ER 24 Ambulance Services were on scene to treat Jaco before transporting him to a local hospital for further medical care.

The exact circumstances surrounding the accident are unknown at this stage and remain subject to further police investigations.
