Decomposed body found near dump site

A postmortem will be held to determine the exact cause of death.

A dead body was found near the dump site in Acaciavale on Monday (May 18). Officials who attended the scene commented that the body was discovered in a decomposed state by a herdsman.

Identity remains unknown

At this stage, the identity of the deceased remains unknown and it is not clear how long the body had been there.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan confirmed the incident, saying, “The body of an unknown male, approximately 35 years old, was discovered in the Acaciavale East area close to the landfill site. The body was in a state of decomposition and at this stage, the cause of death is still unknown.”

Authorities investigating

Authorities were on the scene and investigations are expected to continue as efforts are made to establish the identity of the deceased and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Khan further stated that a postmortem will be held to determine the exact cause of death.
