University and tribal authority empower learners at workshop

Inkosi Nkwanyana encouraged the learners to dedicate themselves fully to their education.

The Durban University of Technology (DUT), together with Inkosi Nkwanyana, successfully hosted a career guidance and university readiness workshop at the Forderville Community Hall on Saturday, May 16.

DUT representatives provided learners with valuable information about different career paths they can pursue after matriculating. Matriculants were encouraged to follow their passions and work hard towards achieving their career goals through higher education.

Inkosi Nkwanyana motivates the youth

Inkosi Nkwanyana expressed his appreciation to DUT for bringing such an important initiative to the community. He shared wise and motivational words with the students, urging them to listen attentively, remain respectful at all times, and focus on building a brighter future for themselves.

He also revealed that he is a university graduate himself, having graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) last year. Speaking proudly of his achievement, he said it is proof that education has no age limit.

Nkwanyana further highlighted the importance of career guidance events, saying they help sharpen students’ understanding of where they are heading in life. He encouraged learners who aspire to become professors, doctors and other professionals to study hard and dedicate themselves fully to their education.

Dr Mkhize gives advice about university life

Dr Mkhize from UKZN, who hails from Estcourt, also addressed the students during the workshop. She advised them that when they leave home for cities such as Durban to further their studies, they must have a clear understanding of their purpose and remain focused on their academic goals.

The workshop was described as a meaningful and empowering event that inspired many young people to take their education seriously and prepare for successful futures.
