Father-and-son duo share top honour

Selecting a single Driver of the Day proved impossible, with the honour instead shared by a deserving father-and-son team. Boet Buys and Tiaan Buys were named Drivers of the Day for their outstanding performances.

“One trophy, two winners and a month of negotiating bragging rights at home,” joked Northern Natal Motorsport Raceway owner Razia Cassim.

Cassim thanked the sponsors, officials, marshals, helpers, competitors and supporters for their continued support.

“Your contribution helps the sport grow with every event. Northern Natal Motorsport Raceway would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to every spectator, family member and supporter who joined us for the Winter Challenge,” she said.

“A special thank you goes to all the drivers who competed. You arrived prepared, raced hard and delivered fantastic entertainment from start to finish. The skill, sportsmanship and excitement on display are what keep the passion for oval racing alive.

“Every driver who entered played a part in making the event a success. Your commitment and enthusiasm helped create a memorable day for competitors and spectators alike.”

The next event will take place on July 4.
