Free yoga day coming up on Saturday

The event is being held to promote yoga while encouraging physical, mental and emotional well-being.

The Yoganasana Federation of South Africa (YSFSA) will host a free International Day of Yoga celebration in Ladysmith on Saturday, June 20.

Mission to promote yoga

The event forms part of the federation’s mission to promote yoga among young people and communities while encouraging physical, mental and emotional well-being.

YSFSA is affiliated with World Yogasana and is working to establish Yogasana as a recognised sport in South Africa through training programmes, competitions, community outreach and educational initiatives.

Yoga is for everyone

YSFSA director and yoga teacher Rekha Singh said yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, body type or fitness level.

“Yoga is a lifestyle skill that can be used for exercise, healing and psychological calm,” she said.
