Housing project offers affordable home ownership in Endumeni

A new housing project aims to help Endumeni residents achieve affordable home ownership.

Prospective homeowners in Endumeni were this week introduced to a new housing development programme during a conference and golf day held at the Dundee Country Club.

The event was hosted by Durban-based Fezeka Homes and highlighted opportunities for first-time buyers to access affordable housing in the Endumeni area.

Guests, stakeholders and golfers attended the conference, where organisers outlined plans for the proposed developments and explained how residents could apply for housing opportunities.

According to Fezeka Homes, three sites have been identified for the project. In Dundee, 11 housing units are planned for Argyle Street. A further 21 units are earmarked for two developments in Glencoe, located on Kemp Street and Church Street. The developments are intended to cater for middle-income and lower-income applicants.

Development aims to assist first-time buyers

Programme director Celimpilo Malinga welcomed guests and provided an overview of the initiative, including the application process for prospective homeowners.

Organisers said the project seeks to make home ownership more attainable by offering affordable housing options. The package includes bond registration and transfer costs, reducing some of the financial barriers often faced by first-time buyers.

Beyond providing housing, the initiative is expected to contribute to local economic growth and community development by encouraging investment in the area and helping more families secure permanent homes.

The conference was followed by a golf day, with E. Jansen and B. Mbokazi taking first place. H. Hlongwane and P. Mbele finished as runners-up, while S. Adalis secured third position.

J. Zulu won the longest-drive competition on the 18th hole.

Organisers said the development is aimed at helping more residents realise the dream of home ownership while supporting ongoing housing development in Endumeni.
