Dundee Junior geesfees draws crowds and delights families

Dundee Junior's first geesfees attracted crowds with family fun, entertainment and live performances.

Dundee Junior’s first-ever geesfees attracted a large crowd, with visitors braving the early morning chill to enjoy a day packed with family entertainment, activities and live music.

The festivities began with a trail run before moving into a busy programme that offered something for all ages. Children enjoyed a dedicated kids’ zone, while visitors browsed a variety of stalls and sampled an abundance of food and refreshments.

Families gathered around the stage for the modelling and modern dance competitions and displays, proudly supporting the young participants throughout the day.

School plans to build on the event’s success

As the afternoon progressed, several well-known artists took to the stage, with popular musician Appel headlining the entertainment programme and keeping the crowd entertained well into the evening.

Dundee Junior principal Renier Swanepoel thanked sponsors, volunteers and the community for their support, which contributed to the success of the inaugural event.

“We are grateful for the support from our sponsors and everyone who attended. It was a fantastic day and we will definitely be looking at hosting the event again next year,” he said.

The successful geesfees not only showcased local talent and community spirit but also provided an opportunity for families to come together and enjoy a memorable day of fun and entertainment.
