Dundee Rotary launch shoe project for deserving local learners

Dundee Rotary Club and Pick n Pay have donated new school shoes to help local learners attend school with confidence.

The Dundee Rotary Club, with support from Pick n Pay, has donated new school shoes to local children through a community initiative aimed at helping learners attend school with confidence and dignity.

The project, supported by Pick n Pay’s corporate office and its Dundee branch, provides essential footwear to pupils who might otherwise struggle to afford part of their school uniform.

Rotary Club member Bev Garner said the initiative was about far more than simply providing shoes.

“Every child deserves to attend school with confidence and dignity. We are grateful to Pick n Pay for partnering with us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local learners,” she said.

The new shoes will enable learners to participate in school activities with pride while easing the financial burden on families.

Garner said Rotarians hope the initiative will continue to grow and inspire more businesses and community members to support local schools and ensure every child has the opportunity to learn with confidence.
