A suspected robber was shot and killed during a shootout with police in a farming area between Dundee and Glencoe near the Wasbank road on Thursday, July 9.

According to KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Paul Magwaza, police acted on information about suspected robbers believed to be at the farm.

When officers arrived, a shootout ensued, and one suspect was fatally wounded. Three other men were said to have fled on foot.

No police officers were injured during the exchange of gunfire.

Police investigations into the incident are continuing.
