RASP offers to assist with water restoration, for FREE?

RASP has offered to restore water supply at no cost, pending uThukela's approval.

A media statement has been issued, stating that RASP Consultants CC is prepared to assist in restoring water supply to affected communities free of charge.

According to the statement, the company says it only requires written authorisation from uThukela District Municipality, access to the affected infrastructure, and co-operation from municipal officials before its technical team can begin assessing the problem.

The statement calls on Mayor Inkosi Shabalala and Municipal Manager LS Jili to indicate whether the municipality will accept the offer, arguing that cost should no longer be a barrier to restoring water to residents.

The media statement has been verified by Councillor Abbas Warasally.

At the time of publishing, uThukela District Municipality had not publicly responded to the offer.

We will update the story should the municipality provide comment.
