Mayor delivers on promises to Chieveley community

The visit marked the fulfilment of commitments made by the municipality and the mayor.

The community of Chieveley, Ward 19, welcomed Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality Mayor Mduduzi Myeza during a community handover programme held yesterday (July 20).

The visit marked the fulfilment of commitments made by the municipality and the mayor following requests submitted by community members.

During previous engagements, residents identified several needs aimed at improving their livelihoods, supporting food security, and creating economic opportunities.

Support for emerging farmers and entrepreneurs

Among the requests was the sponsorship of a high-quality breeding bull that community members said would help improve the quality of their cattle. They explained that access to superior breeding stock would enable local farmers to develop stronger herds and compete with established commercial farmers, particularly at livestock auctions.

Other requests included chickens, goats, fencing materials, sewing machines, and additional resources to support both agricultural and small business activities.

Resources handed over

The mayor confirmed that the municipality had successfully responded to the requests made by the community. The resources were officially handed over to beneficiaries in Chieveley yesterday.
