Clear skies and warmer days forecast for Dundee
Dundee residents can look forward to a week of sunny, dry weather, with clear skies expected every day and temperatures gradually climbing as the week progresses following three days of freezing morning and night temperatures.
Cold starts, pleasant afternoons
While mornings will remain chilly, conditions are expected to warm up steadily during the afternoons, making for ideal late winter weather.
Today’s (August 3) forecast predicts a high of 18°C and a low of 4°C under clear skies, with light winds of around 3m/s.
Temperatures will rise to 21°C on Tuesday before reaching 22°C on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday is also expected to remain sunny, with a high of 22°C and a milder overnight low of 9°C.
Night-time temperatures will increase gradually from 4°C at the start of the week to between 7°C and 9°C by the end of the working week.
No rain is forecast during the period, while winds are expected to remain generally light, ranging from 1m/s to 6m/s. Nine mm of rain was measured in July, analyst Doug Gordon reported
The calm, dry conditions should provide excellent weather for outdoor activities, sport and travel, although early morning commuters are advised to dress warmly before the afternoon temperatures become more comfortable.
