Dundee High welcomes Worcester Royal Grammar School for international rugby clash

Dundee High takes on visiting English side Worcester Royal Grammar School in two exciting rugby fixtures

Dundee High School is set for another exciting afternoon of international rugby today (Wednesday, August 5) as it welcomes Worcester Royal Grammar School from the United Kingdom.

The visit comes just weeks after the successful tour by Royal Lancaster Grammar School, further strengthening Dundee High’s growing international rugby connections and giving local players another opportunity to test themselves against quality overseas opposition.

Two exciting fixtures

Founded in 1291, Worcester Royal Grammar School is one of England’s oldest independent schools. Based in the city of Worcester, the school has a proud sporting tradition, with rugby playing a central role in school life.

Today’s action gets underway with the under-15 match at 14:50 on A Field, followed by the under-17 fixture at 16:00 on the same field.

Dundee High’s Dave van der Westhuizen extended a warm welcome to the touring side and wished both teams an enjoyable and memorable afternoon of rugby.

The school is encouraging parents, learners and the wider community to come along and support the players as they enjoy the rare opportunity to compete against international opposition.

Supporters are also reminded that positive encouragement from the sidelines plays an important role in developing young sportsmen.
