Dundee Aquatic Club makes a splash with Polar Plunge
Dundee Aquatic Swimming Club has kicked off its 2026 season with a chilly Polar Plunge that brought swimmers and the community together.
Dundee Aquatic Swimming Club chose the first day of spring, September 1, to officially open its 2026 swimming season with a Polar Plunge.
The fun-filled event attracted swimmers, families and supporters from the local community, who embraced the chilly challenge before warming up with hot drinks and wors rolls available for purchase afterwards.
The event also provided an opportunity for members and supporters to socialise and celebrate the start of another swimming season.
“We thank De Jager Meats for its generous donation towards the event. Special thanks to John Flanagan’s children, who kindly created a poster for swimmers to pose with as proof that they had completed the Polar Plunge,” said club member Mandy Goetsch.
Goetsch encouraged people of all ages to consider joining the club, highlighting swimming as an activity that combines fitness, recreation and social interaction.
Anyone interested in joining Dundee Aquatic Swimming Club can contact a committee member for more information.
The club thanked the community for its continued support and said it was looking forward to a successful and enjoyable swimming season.
