Vryheid’s Origin Cubs celebrates Spring Day and new beginnings
Origin Cubs and Origin Primary School learners welcomed spring with colour, fun and friendship.
Origin Cubs and Origin Primary School learners welcomed Spring Day with colourful celebrations and a day of fun outside the classroom last Friday.
The learners dressed in bright colours and enjoyed a variety of food as they spent the day together, sharing and taking part in activities prepared by their teachers.

A new chapter for Origin Cubs
For Origin Cubs, formerly known as LadyBird Pre-School, the celebration had an added meaning as the school enters a new chapter under its new name.
Principal Mrs Abrams said the Spring Day celebration represented new beginnings and a fresh start for the school.
“This Spring Day is about us seeing new beginnings and a fresh start, as we have officially changed the school name to Origin Cubs. This day is to bring the little ones together to share happiness, initiate sharing among them and just have fun with one another.”
Building friendships through fun
The celebration also included learners from Origin Primary School, from Grade 1-4, and Abrams said the day was aimed at creating an environment where learners could build friendships, learn to work together and show love towards one another.
Teachers work together
The celebration also gave educators an opportunity to work together behind the scenes to ensure that the learners enjoyed the day.
One of the teachers, Katy, said the event brought teamwork among the educators as they collaborated to prepare the activities and food for the learners.
