Endumeni IFP to hold pray service against femicide and gender-based violence (GBV)
The IFP has spoken out against the spate of murders in the East Rand and on Saturday will hold a gathering to create awareness around GBV.
The IFP Endumeni Constituency will host a special prayer service against femicide and gender-based violence (GBV) at Moth Hall in Dundee on Saturday, September 26, at 10am
The IFP said the gathering would provide an opportunity to pray for Endumeni, women and children, and peaceful, free, and fair local government elections.
The service follows the party’s condemnation of the reported killing of nine women in Ekurhuleni, Kempton Park, and its call for communities to stand against violence against women and children.
The IFP Endumeni Constituency said the victims were “mothers, sisters and daughters” and that there could be no place in society for violence against women and children.
It called on men in Endumeni to take a stand against GBV and urged residents to support efforts to protect women and children.
The party also called on churches, pastors and other faith leaders to join the fight through prayer and community action.
