Hostel year-end function: A celebration of unity and appreciation

Outgoing heads of 2024 delivered emotional speeches, reflecting on their journey and experiences in the hostel

Vryheid High School’s hostel recently hosted a heartfelt year-ending function, marking the conclusion of a successful academic year. The event, filled with warmth and gratitude, acknowledged the dedication and hard work of individuals who contributed to the hostel’s triumph.
Outgoing heads of 2024 delivered emotional speeches, reflecting on their journey and experiences in the hostel. They expressed appreciation for the support and guidance received throughout their tenure.
The newly-elected heads of 2025 presented thoughtful gifts to the matriculants, symbolising their appreciation for the seniors’ leadership and mentorship.
House father Mr Moolman was marvelled at for his unwavering guidance and care. The leaders thanked the matrons, Soekie and Sophie, for their nurturing and dedication. VHS hostel staff members – Mr Scholtz, Ms Shangase, Mr Chiliza, Mr Steyn, Mr Mbatha and Ms Mthembu – were also shown appreciation for their tireless efforts in maintaining a comfortable and supportive environment.
