VHS rolls out the welcome mat for Grade 8s
The school is thrilled to welcome the new Grade 8s

Vryheid High School’s Grade 8 learners were treated to a spectacular ‘welcome show’ hosted by their peers and the school leaders. The event aimed to introduce the newcomers (Grade 8s) to the school’s values and create a sense of belonging among the learners.
The Grade 8s were divided into groups, each representing one of the school’s core values: honesty, integrity, compassion, responsibility, respect and excellence. Each group took to the stage to present their assigned value, showcasing their creativity and teamwork through dance performances.
The show’s highlight was a thrilling dance battle between the groups, with each team aiming for the top spot. The energy was electric and the audience cheered on their favourite performances.
The school leaders ‘brought the house down’ with their final dance, demonstrating their own commitment to the school’s values.
The success of the show was largely due to the efforts of Mr Scholtz and the school leaders, who worked tirelessly to organise the event. Their dedication to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for the Grade 8 pupils is truly commendable.
The school is thrilled to welcome the new Grade 8s. This event was a wonderful way to introduce them to the school’s values and spirit. “We look forward to seeing them grow and thrive in our community.”
