Plan classroom stationery essentials for the new school year

Get ready for the school year with essential classroom stationery, helping parents plan efficiently , avoidimg last-minute shopping stress.

With the new school year set to start on January 14, the back to school rush is one with shops once again flooding social media and newspapers with stationery specials.

Planning is essential to ensure that the arduous task of getting in all the right supplies is smooth and efficient – especially when shopping with younger (or older) learners.

Here are some basic classroom essentials to consider:

  1. Writing tools

  • Pens, pencils, erasers, coloured pencils, rulers, scissors and highlighters.
  1. Books and filing

  • Exercise books, notebooks, exam pads and flip files.
  1. Technology

  • A calculator for subjects such as maths and science.
  1. Carry items

  • A pencil case or bag, and a school backpack if one is not supplied by the school.

Parents are reminded that stationery needs may differ depending on a learner’s grade and individual school requirements.

Happy shopping and best wishes for the new school year!
