Ferrum High School’s boys’ and girls’ cricket teams took to the field against Dundee High School in what turned out to be a day of competitive cricket with mixed results.

The boys’ teams faced tough challenges while the Ferrum girls delivered an outstanding performance., winning Dundee by 50 runs.

The results were as follows:

Boys’ results:

 1st Team:

• FHS: 136/8 (20 overs)
• DHS: 137/3 (16.2 overs)
• Best Batsmen: Franco Jansen (31 runs)and Jayden de Meyer (28 runs)
• Best Bowlers: Heino van der Westhuizen (2 wickets) and Franco Jansen (1 wicket)
• Man of the Match: Franco Jansen (31 runs and 1 wicket)

Dundee High School won by 7 wickets.

 Under 15:

• FHS: 93/8 (20 overs)
• DHS: 94/5 (9 overs)
• Best Batsmen: Bernard Fourie (21 runs) and Alex Talanda (8 runs)
• Best Bowlers: Bernard Fourie (2 wickets), Alex Talanda (1 wicket), and Dawson DBC (2 wickets and 1 run-out)
• Man of the Match: Bernard Fourie (21 runs and 2 wickets)

Dundee High School won by 5 wickets.

 Girls’ results:

• FHS: 204-3
• DHS: 154-1
• Top Batting Performances: Xanalise van Dyk – 66 runs, Lariska Nell – 48 runs

 Ferrum won by 50 runs!
