Huttenpark preschool tees off with first golf day
More than 80 golfers brave the cold as Huttenpark Kleuter Sentrum raises funds for its preschool.
The Huttenpark Kleuter Sentrum (Preschool Centre) hosted its first golf day on Saturday.
The preschool principal and organiser of the event, Elandi Smit, said she hopes to host the event annually and is already planning a bigger and better event for 2027.
More than 80 golfers participated in the golf day, which served as a fund-raiser for the preschool.
Smit said it was wonderful to see how people embraced the cold weather to come together for a good cause.
“It was a great success and everyone enjoyed it,” said Smit, who thanked the sponsors of the event as well as everyone who contributed to make the event a success.
The results were as follows:
- In the men’s category, Uppies Upton came first with 42 points.
- In second place was Charles Kemp with 41 points.
- Coming in third was André Joubert with 40 points (onco).
- Eric Bladin de Chalain came fourth with 40 points (onco) and Henry Nienaber brought up fifth place (also 40 points – onco).
- In the women’s category, Sune Pawson came first with 45 points, while Wilma Lindeque scooped second place with 33 points and Lelanie Theron came third with 31 points.
