NOTICE OF WATER USE LICENSE APPLICATION (WU 46354) FOR THE PROPOSED WEENEN ABSTRACTION WORKS, LOCATED WITHIN WEENEN, UTHUKELA DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY Notice is given in terms of: *`The National Water Act (No.36 of 1998), Section 21(a) taking water from a water resource, (b) storing water, (c) impeding or diverting the flow of water in a watercourse, and , (i) altering the bed, banks course or characteristics of a watercourse PROJECT DESCRIPTION The uThukela District Municipality have identified the need to upgrade the water supply network within the region. As such Malambe Projects (Pty)Ltd is submitting an application for a water use licence, on behalf of the applicant uThukela District municipality, for the proposed construction of the Weenen Abstraction Works. The Proposed Weenen Water Abstraction Works is located within ward 7 of the Inkosi Langalibalele Municipality, uThukela District, KwaZulu- Natal. The project is located along the Bushmans River. The proposed abstraction works is located downstream of the R74 road bridge, on the left-hand side of the riverbank looking downstream, at 2851`7.90`S 30 4`53.79`E.
