Take care of animals

When people hit an animal with their car, they often leave the carcass to rot in the road.

Editor – Why are people so cruel? Innocent animals are killed every day and everyone just turns a blind eye to it.
Many pets wander the streets and one cannot help thinking that if people cannot look after their pets, then they should not have any.
If you have a dog, no matter how big or small, you should make sure it cannot get out of your yard.
When people hit an animal with their car, they often leave the carcass to rot in the road.
How do these people think? How do they sleep at night knowing they have murdered someone’s friend? Many people do not see their animals as pets, but rather as members of their family.

Other people should maybe just think about this a little bit.
When stray animals are hit, such as one of the many dassies that roam our town, no one seems to care. A few weeks ago, a dassie was hit in Cannon Road.

I was amazed that it was removed from the road, but later found that the carcass had been dumped at the intersection of Cannon and Hospital Road, where it remained to decompose for some time.
Come on, people, show some respect for our furry little friends. Would you do this if a loved one was hit by a car? Imagine seeing bodies piled up in the road for all to see. Some of us love animals just as much as people, if not more!
