Eskom’s not involved

The Democratic Alliance Councillors write:-
PLEASE take note that there is a group of people going around town targeting older home owners with a story that they are doing survey on energy conservation on behalf of Eskom.
This is not true.
I was in the presence of Mr Ken Tupper when he telephoned Eskom about the matter, and they knew nothing about it!
What they are actually doing is trying to sell solar heating geysers to the people. We have no problem with this , but what is a problem is that people are told that if they do not install this system the municipality will cut their electricity supply. In one instance when a lady who refused to buy their system , was later telephoned by a guy (who called himself John from the municipality) who told her that her electricity was going to be disconnected because she did not buy the system.
Our advice to the public is that if you are not interested in a solar system, simply refuse these people access to your property. They always make a telephonic appointment before visiting you, and that is when you must refuse to see them.
