Madam – On September 19, the former KwaZulu-Natal ANC Deputy Secretary, our beloved Comrade Mbuso Kubheka was laid to rest.
We missed an opportunity to bury this cadre and it is very painful that his family had to take a painful decision that his funeral be held privately.
Comrade Mbuso understood his revolutionary obligations, as a revolutionary, and he knew that he is the first person to suffer and be the last person to enjoy comfort. These are principles that guided him – publicly and privately – in his personal life and in his relationship with the masses of our people.
We are deeply hurt that we missed an opportunity of burying our hero and a leader, as members of his movement and as South Africans, in the manner he deserves as a revolutionary and a hero of the nation, as we did to the people he said who closely mentored him such as Comrades Dumisani Makhaye, Professor Sibankulu and George Sithole.
We are certain that words cannot express how saddened we are, as the nation, to Kubheka Family, and our hearts are with them in this time of sorrow.
Hamba kahle Mbuso wama-Afrika! Qhawe lamaQhawe! Galelagase wombutho wabantu!
