Sir,
Over the past weekend we had 240 ladies from all over KZN playing in the yearly Interclub tournament. Dundee Country Club was honoured to have hosted this event that took place over three days. It was a mammoth challenge making sure 240 ladies teed off at the correct times with caddies and carts, feeding them and making sure everything ran smoothly. The feedback from the KZN officials and players has been overwhelming.
To the Dundee High School gumboot dancers and Dundee Diehards, thank you so much for entertaining the girls. One comment I received: “Goose bump moments!” To the Dundee Round Table – we could not have managed without you! And the ladies loved having you as waiters and our ‘nurses’ at the Wellness Table. To the Dundee community – you can be so proud! The ladies were amazed and so impressed with the friendliness and warmness they received from the B&Bs, pharmacy, doctors, hospital and all the stores in town. Thank you to Mbube Security, and Jody Mitchell for the festive music, and all the non-golfing players and members that volunteered their valuable time to help out.
To our golfing men – you worked like Trojans, and it did not go unnoticed by the local ladies and visitors.
The potjie competition was a massive hit – well done. To all the staff at DCC – a heartfelt thank-you for all your hard work. Dundee lady golfers – you can go to the next Interclub with your heads held high as you have set the bar to higher levels for the next year’s hosting club. Marissa – we could have never in our wildest dreams imagined how you would transform the clubhouse and the area outside on a shoestring budget. Jenny from Miner’s Rest – your food as always was delicious, thank you. Valley and Marc – the girls said it was the best spit-braai ever.
An extra special thank-you to our sponsors, because without you we could not have achieved what we did: Evo Lubricants Indy Oil, NN Voere, Afritan, OK Value Supermarket, Engen, Farmtrac, Debonairs, Spur, Wimpy, Acutt & Worthington, Ecomed, Hollard, Mortimer Toyota, Forbes Coal, Mbube Security, ABI, Mpati Pharmacy, Mercy Care Ambulance, Homenet, Aquellé, Hesmarie Bester, Debbie Catlett, Coenie Munro and Dunlop.
