Productivity in this country is probably at an all-time low, yet people continue to strike for more money.
I travel the Hattingspruit/Newcastle road once a week, and on one trip I noticed a group of workers – complete with overalls (mainly women) – fast asleep under a shady tree.
I guess that they are supposed to be cutting grass, or perhaps picking up stones?
I thought – perhaps early lunch hour?
But returning from Newcastle some hours later the group was still fast asleep.
What are they doing? Are they mattress reps?
I believe they only work two days a week (sleeping), but earn R500 every fortnight. Is this job creation?
Sleeping on the job with tax-payers’ money?
They probably knock off early too, after taking lunch and sleeping. Who supervises? Does anyone care?
No wonder everyone wants a government job – no stress, no work.
Tax money does not grow on trees. Or perhaps that is why they sleep under the trees…
