Here we go again – it’s noon on Tuesday, October 8 and the cacophony of noise from the Victoria Street supermarkets opposite the taxi rank is starting again – sure to go on till after 6pm tonight!
What respect is shown for the frail and elderly at Eventide, for the learners at the nearby school, or for ordinary home-owners and pensioners in the neighbourhood?
The only time the noise subsides is when the call to prayer rings out – makes you wonder about the cultural differences in this community!
It appears as if the businesses care nothing for the constitutional rights of the rest of us.
Are foreigners above the law in Dundee? Speaking of the Constitution, the local SA Police Service is ignorant of the law of disturbing the peace and the right to occupy one’s property in peace and quiet.
Any complaints to them are smugly dismissed, so taxpayers and ratepayers have no recourse in attempting to have the law enforced around here.
Why can’t these supermarket owners not trade responsibly? Their disrespect for others promotes racism, anger and religious antagonism in the extreme, and makes one wonder about the true nature of their activities.
Can this town ever get on top of the many facets of pollution which blight its very existence?
