The roads in Ladysmith are in a very poor condition and something needs to be done to fix this problem.
There are many problems when it comes to our roads.
First of all, potholes are everywhere and this makes it difficult for motorists to negotiate the roads and keep their cars from being damaged. Shock absorbers are at risk when bouncing in and out of craters in the tarmac.
The second problem motorists face is the dirt and glass all over the roads.
Why can’t people discard their rubbish in trash cans like civilised folk and what is happening to municipal workers?
Surely the municipality is tasked with cleaning all this hazardous rubbish off the roads?
How much longer will motorists have to keep on avoiding the rubbish on our roads?
The day a person has an accident or swerves into a pedestrian is probably the day the ‘powers that be’ pull their finger out and do something about the situation.
The state of our roads really needs to be brought to the attention of our town fathers before it’s too late and someone loses their life because of a problem that can easily be fixed.
We treasure our cars, but lives are much more important in the scheme of things. It is time we as a community told council that enough is enough! You need to stop wasting money of functions and new cars and spend it on fixing the town’s roads.
Yes, fix our roads and invest in some brooms to clean our town.
Many people, I fear, are afraid to tell people they come from Ladysmith lest they think we are dirty!
