Editor – Did anyone try to drive down White Road or Lambton Street on Saturday?
I did and was met with chaos, cars and taxis parked on the pavements around the corner of the road! One car was just abandoned at the stop street, making it almost impossible to drive up or down the road!
I’m not sure how the residents of that area cope with the road chaos and the noise? It’s almost impossible for residents to get in or out of their driveways!
As I negotiated my way down the road, I noticed some of the guests had moved their party and drinking to the island in the middle of the road. Surely if you are going to host parties as big as these, there should be enough parking places? What about the noise? This is a residential area; I thought this was a bed & breakfast establishment?
I contacted the police and was told to contact Public Safety. This I did and was told that someone had been sent out to check. So I wasn’t the only one who complained. From the sound of it, quite a few other complaints had been received.
What is going to be done about this? Surely there are licences and standards one needs to conform to. Were any of the residents in the area contacted for their input? We have all had parties with a large number of guests at times, but this seems to happen almost every weekend!
