Who enforces the rules?
I am a resident of Melville Street, and we like to take our son to the McPhail Park to play on the equipment.
We were very impressed when the municipality took the initiative to repair and upgrade the equipment, and put signs up with the rules of the park on.
But within a matter of weeks one swing has already been broken, either by ungrateful children (for whom the park was intended) or by their older counterparts, them of the broken vodka bottles (most smashed against the equipment, right where children should be playing).
We also had the unfortunate experience of finding human faeces, a couple of centimetres away from our faces at eye-level, on the jungle gym. This blatant disrespect for other visitors dampens the enthusiasm somewhat.
Municipal signage is all good and well, but who is going to enforce the rules? Such as the park ‘closing’ at 20h00…?

Thanks to municipality for notice boards
Thank you for erecting notice boards on the corners of McPhail Park. I am sure it will help to deter excessive littering, alcohol abuse, noise pollution, damage to playground property and any other illegal activities.
We are indeed grateful.
