The municipal building is not zoo…

It is my opinion that the Endumeni Municipality has turned into circus. There is no order in the Council meetings. 
What transpired at the recent Council meeting where there was an exchange of words between Councillor B Mbatha and Endumeni Speaker Councillor S Mdluli was unacceptable. His behaviour was very much inappropriate – that of a clown or an intoxicated individual in a sheeben. We don’t expect that kind of behaviour from a professional like him. There is no justification for his actions whatsoever. Honourable Councillor Mbatha is not a clown or a fool, and she should be treated with respect. The Speaker should know that the municipal building is not a zoo, but a dignified institution. Therefore, order and professionalism must be maintained at all times. As a member of the IFP, I think it is high time that senior officials who are found guilty of such behaviour be suspended and charged. Because corruption has decayed the municipality for too long; someone must be held accountable. When the IFP governed Endumeni Municipality there was transparency and accountability; there was no cadre corruption, and fraud investigation procedures were followed when officials were deployed. The IFP has a good track record. Services were delivered on time to the people of Endumeni; there was no picking and choosing a selective group of people to gain from the government. The community saw development; compared to what the municipality is doing now there was progress during the time the IFP was in power in Endumeni. Endumeni is the worst municipality if we compare it to other municipalities too; it is a laughing stock ever since the present Mayor Mahaye was sworn to head this town. It was the beginning of the end for the town and surrounding areas. In fact the municipality is in ‘the ICU’, it is a disaster. We have no confidence in Mayor Mahaye. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a shower in his office. The civic centre is not Luthuli House. As the IFP Youth Brigade, we are saying hands-off Councillor Mbatha! We will support her, and we will stand by our leader. Councillor Mbatha: we will defend you from vultures who are bent on corruption and stealing from the Endumeni citizens. Aluta continua! Continue to do a good job and serve the community well, my comrade!
