Madam

How wonderful to read positive, kind letters on your letters page.

In response to “a tiny bit of kindness goes further”, how very true.

Well done, Klein Spoortjies. You are developing our leaders of the future.

A few weeks ago there was a very positive letter about Madadeni Hospital – warmed the cockles of my heart! And how very uplifting for the hard working staff.

I would also like to contribute something positive. Before travelling to England for an extended visit, I called at the municipal offices to pay my services accounts in advance, to avoid being “cut off”. There was some confusion, and my bank account was debited twice, while my accounts were only credited once. There was no time to sort this out, so the bank and the municipality suggested I follow up on my return.

Expecting very little “joy”, I visited the municipality again on my return. I was treated with courtesy, the problem was detected, and imagine my delight when, at the end of July, both my accounts had been credited, leaving me with a credit balance.

Thank you to all those lovely ladies who helped me.

And let’s keep pointing out the positive – it’s not difficult to find.
