Payment due dates are unreasonable

Rate payments after the 5th is a gimmick to bring in extra income, we are being ripped off

Editor
To all shop keepers whose lights were turned off, when you all had your lights turned off the pinch was felt.
As a pensioner I previously had an article published in the Estcourt News regarding people getting paid after the 5th and 6th of every month and not being able to pay our light bills by then. It is possible to have the bill paid by the 10th of every month though nobody was in my favour regarding my letter.
Our councillors should step in and help solve the problem.
The due date for payments made for rates should be the 10th of every month. Rate payments after the 5th is a gimmick to bring in extra income, we are being ripped off.
The bank and chain stores has set their due dates for any date after the sixth.
I appeal to the community to support this matter.
