I would like to convey my sincere thanks to the three gentlemen from the Estcourt fire department who responded to a distressed call on Sunday. A pregnant cat had climbed up a pole in an effort to escape dogs. She was terrified to climb down the pole and as a result spent about five hours huddled on the high telephone pole.
She was petrified and in obvious distress. I called the emergency services who despatched the fire department and within 30 minutes two gentlemen were there to assist. They called their colleague when they realised that they would need a ladder and he arrived within 20 minutes.
Soon thereafter the cat was safe, albeit a little dishevelled. We would like to say a HUGE thank you to the three gentlemen from the fire department whose patience and compassion genuinely saved the day and the grateful cat’s life.
