Madam – I have had my ups and downs as an animal owner but I find that bashing an organisation like the SPCA on Facebook is not only immature, but also defeats the purpose.
A popular saying is that some people have only ‘bark and no bite’. I feel the same about some people in this town!
I normally never complain or feel the need to get my opinion across strongly enough to write to the local press. But I think the time for keeping quiet is over. Yes, I know some residents are frustrated over what they deem to be ‘bad service’.
But instead of contacting the relevant people or attempting to resolve conflict in a civilised and mature manner, they take to social media to trash others. Grow up!
I have had my share of run-ins with both the municipal pound and the SPCA. The services that are supposed to be provided by the municipality most often get lumped onto the SPCA because no one in government can give either the media or residents a satisfactory answer when it comes to strays.
I think the message has been quite clear over the years: the SPCA is there to assist with animals that have been injured and abused. A clear response. A clear description. What’s so hard to understand?
Give the SPCA a break people. They’re doing the best they can with what little they have. If you’re so passionate about telling people how they should do their job, where are you when they have their AGM and then you can actually give your ‘valuable input’ to them in person.
Grow up
